Worship
Gathered in Community
Join us to worship in Jesus name! Children are an integral part of worship at St. Peter Lutheran! Children come forward for our weekly children’s messages, have the opportunity to respond to God’s word by making something at the Creation Station, and bring their quarters forward to put in our quarter tube which supports our local food pantry. We acknowledge and embrace the joyful noise of children in worship and encourage families to worship together as much as possible.
We are a liturgical church and scripture selections come from the Revised Common Lectionary, a three-year cycle of Bible readings used by Christians in North America, and connect us to themes of the church year. Lectionaries have been used since the earliest church, one of many practices that keep us grounded in the faith of our forebears. Though we use a variety of styles and music, we consistently hold to the ancient pattern of Christian worship: Gathering ~ Word ~ Prayer ~ Meal ~ Sending.
We believe that God is present when we gather and is pleased with the prayers, songs, words, and gifts that we offer. In worship God graciously fills us with good things so that we may be good news for the world.
All are welcome at the Lord’s Table when we celebrate the Sacrament of Holy Communion on the 1st, 3rd and 5th Sunday of the month, along with the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month. Parents if you do not want your child to commune yet, please let the server know and they will give your child a blessing. Gluten free wafers are available on the stand at the front of Sanctuary. Simply take a wafer and hold it up when it is your turn.
